Folks, here’s what happened.
This website was created to display the weekly humorous columns I wrote for the Gladstone Observer each Friday and the Newscorp regional papers Lifestyle section on Saturdays.
Unfortunately, a decision was made at Newscorp HQ to stop paying for freelance contributions across the group. Sadly, this meant me.
Now, I have views on writing for free. I also never want to hear the words, ‘We’ll give you exposure in lieu of payment’ again.
Exposure is one way of telling the world you work for free, for everybody, forever.
So, my side-hustle as a weekly columnist came to a screeching halt.
As much as I initially enjoyed the free time this decision gave me, I didn’t want to fill it with watching TV, surfing through YouTube clips or cataloging my scattered copies of National Geographic in numeric order. Life is too short…
Long-ish story short I’ve created another side-hustle as a part-time freelance writer.
To be perfectly honest, I haven’t got a clue how to make it pay; yet.
But there’s only one way to find out, so let the fun begin.
